Why is my rain gauge not working?

Why is my rain gauge not working?

If you believe your rain gauge is not working properly, there are two things you should check:

1. Is your debris filter clogged?
2. Is the rain gauge level?

1. Is your debris filter clogged?
See the picture of the rain gauge debris filter below.

The debris filter is located within the rain collector cone & is designed to filter out leaves, dirt, and other debris so that it doesn't hinder rain collection.
Please check the filter & clean out any debris that may be clogging it.

2. Is your rain gauge level?
Remove the rain collector cone from the base by twisting it counterclockwise. Once you remove the cone, you should see the tipping spoons & bubble level (level identified by red box below).

Verify the bubble is in the center of the level. Adjust the PVC "legs" of the rain gauge, as needed. Replace the rain collector cone by twisting it clockwise.
